To additionally secure the telescopic profile against an adjustment, as is required in particular for use as a steering column for safety reasons, the clamp can form a clamp for the profiles with a clamping lever, which covers the actuating element for the locking body in the clamping position. Thus, the two profiles are determined on the one hand by the passage opening of the outer profile passing through the detent body and on the other hand by the clamp against each other, wherein an actuation of the detent body is prevented by the actuating element securing clamping lever. Advantageous design conditions arise in this context when the terminal has two penetrated by a tie rod clamping lugs, which acts on a cam drive of the clamping lever and when the cam drive is supported on the penetrated by the tie rod actuator on one of the clamping lugs. The telescopic profile according to the invention has an outer profile 1, in which an inner profile 2 is slidably mounted. The inner profile 2 is provided with a latching body 3, which is supported via a return spring 4 to a stop 5 within the inner profile 2. The outer profile 1 has a plurality of passage openings 6 for the locking body 3, so that the profiles of the telescopic profile 1.2 can be determined in different positions to each other. In a first embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the telescopic profile is surrounded by a clamp which comprises two circumferential parts 7 and 8 screwed together. The lying on the side of the openings 6 peripheral part 8 has a tab 9 with an actuating stop 10, which forms an actuating element 11 for the locking body 3. The tab 9 is designed so elastic that it can be displaced from a rest position shown in FIG. 1 of the actuating element 11 in an operating position shown in FIG. 2 for adjusting the telescopic profile and then automatically returns to the rest position. In a second embodiment of the invention shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the outer profile 1 is surrounded by a clamp 12 with two clamping lugs 13 and 14, which are penetrated by a tie rod 15. This tie rod 15 engages the axis of rotation 16 of a clamping lever 18 provided with a cam drive 17. The cam drive 17 is supported via the actuating element 11 for the latching body 3 on the clamping attachment 14, wherein the actuating element 11 comprises, as in the first exemplary embodiment, an elastic tab 9 provided with a latching stop 10. In the clamping position of the clamping lever shown in FIG. 3, the outer profile 1 is clamped against the inner profile 2 and the actuating element 11 in its rest position between the clamping attachment 14 and the cam drive 17. By appropriately shaped clamping lever 18, the actuator 11 is covered and thus additionally protected against inadvertent operation. By releasing the tensioning lever 18 according to FIG. 4, the actuating element 11 is released and can be pressed as shown in FIG. 5, to displace the locking body 3 from the passage opening 6 against the force of the return spring 4 so that the telescopic profile according to the invention adjusted can be. In order to secure the clamp 12 against rotation relative to the outer profile 1, the inner profile 2 may be provided with a centering groove 19, into which a through a centering 20 of the outer profile 1 guided centering pin 21 of Clamp 12 engages. These rubber-elastic covers 22 are above the passage opening 6 and form actuating elements 11 for the locking body 3. For ease of handling, an actuating stop 10 may be formed on the rubber-elastic covers 22, a displacement of the locking body 3 against the return spring 4 through the passage opening 6 of the outer profile 1 facilitates. As shown in FIG. 6, the passage openings 6, latching body 3 and covers 22 according to the invention can be provided not only on one side of the telescopic profile but also on two opposite sides of the telescopic profile.
